Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 9, 2023, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 11:45 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Muņoz, Jr.; Noble; Shine; and Turner.

The chair laid out SB 539 as pending business.

 

Representative Craddick moved that SB 539, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 1340 as pending business.

 

Representative Noble moved that SB 1340, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Representative Shine offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
