The chair called the meeting to order at 4:06 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out SB 19 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bill.
No witnesses registered or testified on the bill.
Senator Bettencourt moved that SB 19 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 3 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
At 4:34 PM Senator Schwertner assumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 54 and recognized the author, Senator Hughes, to explain the bill.
No witnesses registered or testified on the bill.
Senator Hughes moved that SB 54 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The chair laid out HB 16 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Bryan Hughes, to explain the bill.
No witnesses registered or testified on the bill.
Senator Hughes moved that HB 16 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
No action was taken on the following bill: SB 53.
At 4:44 PM Senator Hughes resumed the chair.
There being no further business, at 4:44 PM Senator Hughes moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
